Now It's Time for Action!

All of you have calculated your emissions and you have surely discovered the unexpectedly high impact of some of your behaviors (eating meat, flying to a sunny destination, etc.) on your total footprints.

Are there any behaviors that you are really willing to change or to improve for the sake of the environment? What challenges do you encounter or think you will encounter while trying to change these things? What help, support, and insights from others would make your life easier with these new behaviors?

Let's discuss these issues and make our pledges here!

Stop eating meat

Eating plant based and ditching meat and dairy reduces your risk of heart disease. There are so many studies to support the fact that a plant based diet is beneficial for your heart. However health is not the only reason to stop killing animals for food.

While you make a great point, it is essential that at least some humans continue to eat meat as not only would the jobs of the ranchers be gone, but cattle also emit a certain amount of greenhouse gasses that in excess would start harming the planet even more. Some people's bodies were not made for focusing on an all plant based diet either, and that type of diet could kill a person if they're not careful.

Good for you! I've been vegetarian for around 2 years now and when I first started it seemed really hard. To be quite honest you get really used to it. By now I don't miss meat at all. You got this!!

I agree with this because raising like stock accounts for over 35-50% of humans greenhouse gas emissions. Cutting down on our consumption of meat would not only be good for our environment but also good for our health, since eating meat causes many heart diseases.
