It's very tempting to throw things away or even drop them in a recycling bin when we are done with them. Is there a better way?

I definitely think that we could do a better job of just reusing everything possible. Glass jars, bags, cardboard, etc. Once you have used it as much as possible then definitely recycle, if you can.
