But how does reducing and recycling(scientifically) reduce air and land pollution? Perhaps doing some research for how these reduce air and land pollution can help clarify what I'm asking.

The thing about this statement is that not everything can be recycled or reused so what should be the soultion to that ?

Recycle and reuse what you can. Then with the rest of the stuff contact your local recycling provider and see you can bring stuff in to be transformed into other useful things such as egg cartons and vents.
