What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Will being a vegetarian help the Earth?
I feel like it really isn't helpful or bad, but it is a great way to feel more in control of your diet.
Becoming vegetarian has many health benefits such as reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases and many types of cancer. Non meat diets also reduce the risk of obesity and type 2 diabetes.
I agree, therefore it's mainly affecting your health in a positive way
Yes, becoming a vegetarian will help the Earth. There are many health benefits but becomming vegetarian will also have an impact on your carbon footprint. Eating meat and purchasing meat products is one of the biggest categories that affects your carbon footprint, so not eating meat will reduce your footprint a lot. -Angela Stevenson school.
I definitly think that becoming vegitarian or cutting meat from your diet will help with the earth and your carbon footprint.Purchasing and using meat products are one of the main reasons that your carbon footprint goes up. Cutting out the use of meat in your diet does not only lower your carbon footprint, it also is super beneficial to your body. Cutting out meats leads to a healthier planet and person.
Yes! Becoming vegetarian is very beneficial to our planet, and is simultaneously a great way to reduce our individual carbon footprint. I'm going to summarize the cattle industry's impact, instead of trying to explain the global impact of every animal. There are many factors that play into why the cattle industry is negatively impacting the planet. Firstly, cattle require a lot of water. This water is not limitless and cattle use up significantly more water than plants do, meaning that it would be much more sustainable to reduce meat consumption. Secondly, cattle require lots of land. According to greenandgrowing.org "The average American who eats 270 pounds of meat per year will occupy 20 times the space of a family who only feeds on fruit, vegetables, beans, and rice." Finally, the cattle feed. Not only does the cattle itself require land and water, but the feed of the cattle requires land and water. If these resources used for cattle feed were instead used to grow crops for human consumption, it would feed significantly more people with a smaller overall impact on the planet. ![]()
Being a vegetarian is an amazing way to reduce your carbon footprint. Eating a vegetarian diet emits 2.5 x less carbon then one with meat. the whole farm to plate production process totals to around 30% of all global greenhouse gas emissions. If we cut meat from our diets. Beef production alone is connected to 90% of CO2 and methane increases due to the massive amounts of land dedicated to beef production.
I 100% agree that becoming vegetarian will help the earth because you jurasically decrease your carbon footprint.azx `1qww
I 100% agree that becoming vegetarian will help the earth because you drastically decrease your carbon footprint. Cutting out meat products especially beef help reduce our carbon and greenhouse gas emissions. Another way becoming vegetarian helps our planet is, the less water that come out to waste. It takes lots and lots of water to raise cattle so they can be ready for the slaughter. Becoming vegetarian can help reduce water waste also stop the injections of hormones into the animals.
yes becoming vegetarian will help our earth. being a vegetarian is a really good way to reduce the carbon footprint. If we going to explain why, briefly meet production is connected to very huge amount of CO2 & methane increases due to huge amount of land dedicated to meat production.
