What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Food and Hunger:
I think it is important that we do not waste our food. Many people take food for granted. We have to remember that some people do not have as much food as we do. We can help this problem by not wasting our food and eating everything on our plate at every meal.
That reminds me of a Japanese Lesson: If something doesn't bring you joy give it to someone who will get joy off of it. People should be thankful that we are fortunate I agree 100% with that statement!
I agree that we should not waste food and take the food on our tables for granted. The food we consume is the fruit of peoples' hard labour (farmers, etc), all their effort to produce food will go in vain if food is carelessly thrown away. A lot of people- especially those who live in developed countries or are financially stable- don't bat an eye when they dump food in the compost or let it rot. They are not aware of how fortunate they are considering that 690 million people in the world are starving due to the lack of available food. It is best to be grateful for what we have no matter how small it seems to be because what we have may be something many others yearn for. As you said, we should minimize food waste by taking/buying only ample quantities or simply just eat everything on our plate.
