Food & Hunger

What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?

925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

How can we prevent hunger

Fußball

1. the improvement of agricultural production (better harvests, avoidance of post-harvest losses) in poor, rural regions

2. the preservation and securing of access to natural resources and adaptation to climate change

3. the expansion of infrastructure and markets in rural areas

And much more

World hunger is bad. We are blame for it. At the moment, food is more likly to be importend into western countries, wich is why there is such a surplus that aroun 20% of all food is thrown away here. Instead, food could be exchanged, for example, grain and corn for rice, cocoa and bananas. That would mean less rubbish and more full stomachs.
