What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Food and Hunger
In 2021, I made a goal to be vegetarian, and I am surprisingly following it. It has made me feel better about my impact on the environment, and I also feel like I am wasting less because less parts of the plant get thrown away, as opposed to animals. I also eat locally grown food in the summer from a farm near my house, so I know where it comes from and that it is grown organically and locally. I would suggest trying to eat more plant-based meals as a simple solution to a lot of food-based climate change problems.
Good job! I have been vegetarian since the mid 1990s, and mostly vegan for the last 15 years or so. I'm in consistent good health, and I've also become a better cook, since it has taken learning and creativity to make a wide varety of tasty vegan food.
