What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Food and Hunger
Food is part of everyoneÅ› life, we use it as fuel but the choices in everyoneÅ› diet can be more harmful than you think. Cows are a prime example of this, they release methane which contributes to the worlds Co2 levels. Two pounds of beef would take approximately 13,208 gallons of water to produce. On a grand scale, the demand for meat would mean there would be a rise of greenhouse gasses. Making vegetarian options even two days in a week would save an extra 44 kgs of GHG emissions. I believe people should be more conscious of the impacts it has on the world would be beneficial to the world.
I think that people should definitely be more cautious about what they eat and what impact it has on the environment.
I agree.
