Food & Hunger

What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?

925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Food and hunger

Food and hunger are the source of problems all over the world, from food shortages to gluttony. There are ways to help food hunger, and ways to reduce food waste in other places. For example in a somewhat stable country like America composting and recycling are two great resources to deal with food packaging and food waste. The reason i point out America is one, yes because we have these kind of resources to help with food waste, and two, because in America we are looked at as people who gorge on food, which isn't wrong, but mostly its because we have the accessibility. But not all places of the world have that luxury. In third world countries there is a shortage of food, and theres also many ways we can fix that as well. Like taking the time to send live stock over, or tons of other different things.
