What did you learn about dietary choices from using the footprint calculator? Now imagine that you could translate what you learned into an effective societal policy on food- what would it be? And how would this policy effect the need to alleviate world hunger?
925 million people on earth do not have enough to eat according to the FAO [Food and Agricultural Organization]. That's almost 1 in 7 inhabitants of our planet!

Accessibility of Food
Accessibility to fresh and healthy foods is a huge issue within the US. Donating food, volunteering at shelters to make, prep, or serve food, donating money to charities that help provide food for those in need, and cooking meals for the homeless all seem like helpful steps toward making a positive change. Does anyone have other ideas on some ways me and my family might be able to help?
I'm not sure do you have it in your country, but in mine (Croatia) in bigger shopping malls we have kind of like place for groceries for those in need. Also, before this whole corona situation, we had charity actions in our school. Students were volunteering for our local charity. So, maybe you can give some ideas about it to your teacher. Also, I love your idea about helping people who are hungry in your own country. ![]()
I also think that is a good idea to start charities for the people in need, and of course if there is a soup kitchen or anything like that, try to get more people to help out there.
In big cities like where I live in the states, their are these huge food banks were people collect donated food, make sure it's still good, then hand it out to homeless shelters and those in need. They are always looking for more volunteers but, I've seen some pretty impressive ones.
