To attend the Implementation Science Summer Institute, you will need to complete an online registration. Registrations will be reviewed by the Institute directors to ensure minimum requirements are met. Please plan to book your travel arrangements once your place is confirmed. You can find information on accommodations and travel considerations using the menu above. Please note that the Institute will not be offered for UW academic credit this year.

Fees

The registration fee for either the Fundamentals or the Advanced Track is $1500 USD. Partial fee waivers will be made for international applicants on a limited basis. Please see “Scholarships” below for further details.

Forms of Payment

Payment can be made by credit card (American Express, Discover, DinaCard, BCcard, VISA, or Mastercard), electronic check, or by invoice. Invoices can be issued to internal UW units or external institutions and organizations.

Scholarships

Non-OECD participants – We are offering financial support on a first come, first served basis to a limited number of participants who are citizens of a non-OECD country. There currently is a waitlist. If you would like to be considered and added to the waitlist, please email impsci@uw.edu for additional details and application instructions. If you are unsure of your country’s OECD status, please verify it here. Please note that this financial support does not apply to those being sponsored by a UW grant/gift/budget or similar HIC institution funding.

Deadline to register

Registration will remain open until all seats are filled. Anyone needing a US visa to attend is encouraged to register early and begin the visa application process as soon as possible. There are additional risks and challenges depending on where you are traveling from, so please visit the United States Visas webpage to understand current United States immigration and customs requirements.

All applicants pay a $1500 USD fee to attend either the Fundamentals or Advanced Track, including registered UW students.

The 2026 Summer Institute will not be available for UW course credit to enrolled UW students. Please email us if you have questions.

Please email us to request a code to waive your 2026 registration fee. We can look up your previous registration, no need to find it yourself.

Confirmation of acceptance will be emailed approximately two to three weeks after payment is received and your application is reviewed for minimum requirements. Your seat is held once you register at the link below, even when paying by invoice. Non-response to invoice of more than four weeks will result in cancellation of any associated registrations.

Yes. For invoiced payments, your seat is not fully secured until payment has been received in full and confirmed by email. However, your seat is held for you through the invoice due date or once paid.

If you need to cancel your registration for any reason before July 1, 2026 your fee will be refunded in full. Cancellations after this date will be refunded their course fee less $100. If a cancellation is due to visa challenges the fee will be refunded in full at any date prior to the start of the Institute.

We will provide Institute enrollment letters to all participants who will need a US visa to attend this course. This letter will include your full name, the Institute name, location and dates, as well as the name and contact information of the course directors. However, we are not legally allowed to offer any further guidance in the visa application process beyond providing you with this enrollment letter. This limitation includes guidance on type of visa and timelines. We encourage you to visit the US Visa website to make an informed decision and recommend that you register as early as possible this year to facilitate a timely visa application process. Those who will need to cancel their registration because they are not able to obtain a US visa in time will receive a full refund if the cancellation. Alternatively, the deposit can be deferred to 2027’s course.

No hybrid, partial, or daily course registration is possible.

COVID policies and precautions for the Institute will be communicated to course participants in advance of the event based on current Washington state public health recommendations.
