Making the Case for Social Change: A Chris Grumm Workshop – 3/1

Session 1: Fundraising for Social Change
Designed for staff, board and volunteers in the non-profit sector who have a passion for social change and want to fine-tune their fundraising mentality and strategies. This session is designed to understand both the accelerators and inhibitors for creating effective fundraising strategies, and will focus on:

  • Moving from scarcity to abundance thinking
  • Understanding our individual relationship to money
  • Understanding donor engagement
  • Creating a pipeline from six degrees of separation
  • Democratizing philanthropy
  • Learning how to ask and be successful
  • Learning how to make the case
  • Creating an elevator speech
  • Uncover your passion for fundraising for social change, and come prepared to engage

Session 2: Making the Case
How can you provide evidence to donors and potential funders that your organization actually is making a difference? This session will focus on understanding, defining and presenting your case for social change, and will include:

  • Creating a framework for social change
  • Reframing your work so that it will engage and bring activists and donors to the table
  • Understanding the importance of impact/outcome results and how to frame that into a cohesive story for decision makers and donors
  • Creating the message to carry your story beyond your organization
  • Come to this session with your ideas, leave with an understanding of how your work can be framed for easy messaging
