Guidelines for Florence Marie Bauer Scholarship
Scholarships in the amount of $2000 will be awarded to successful candidates by the Seattle/King County Older Women’s League, (OWL). The award will be issued through the Financial Aid Office of the college the student will be attending.
An application must be completed and postmarked to the scholarship committee by June 15, 2013.
The candidate will be a mature woman over 50 years old, with no dependent children. She will be a resident of Seattle/King County. We favor displaced homemakers, homeless women and women who for whatever reason must train to support herself. Our goal is to assist a woman to achieve her financial independence through education and training.
Special consideration will be given to candidates with a career goal of working in the gerontology field.
This student must have clearly defined educational and career goals and be able to articulate them to the scholarship committee.
