Winter Quarter Elective options

MSW students may take up to 3 credits of electives from out-of-department without additional approval as long as the credits are at the 500 level and are related to social work in some way.  In all cases, you must contact the department offering the course if there is an entry code required.

Departments which have classes which might appeal to our students are below:

Online Electives available:

There are courses offered through PCE that will also fulfill the elective requirements:  http://www.pce.uw.edu/online/courses/  BUT if you’re an MSW DAY student, your tuition for these courses will be in addition to your regular tuition (close to $2000 for a 3 credit course).

Costs are the same for PCE students whether you do our courses or the courses offered through the departments above.

400 level courses MAY be able to count toward your elective requirement but you must send an email to sswstsrv@uw.edu with the course number, course name, # of credits and link to time schedule (or copy of course description) to linm@uw.edu for pre-approval.
