UW Volunteers Needed for Summer Special Olympics – register by end of April 2018

As you may recall, the Special Olympics USA Games are coming to Seattle and the University of Washington the first week of July, with June 30 being a “move in” day. The volunteer registration period wraps up at the end of April and the last few remaining opportunities are waiting for your consideration at:

Volunteers must be at least fourteen years old and each will receive a USA Games t-shirt, backpack, meal pass, Games credentials, an optional hat and a rewarding experience.

Make your 2018 4th of July week one that you will remember for a lifetime by signing up as a USA Games volunteer!

REGISTRATION

Step-by-step

1. Go to www.specialolympicsusagames.org/uw-volunteers and click on the “Register” box.
2. On next screen go to “Access Coded Companies and Groups” and click on “select”.
3. In the “Access Code” box type – DAWGS2018 (all caps) and click on “Unlock”.
4. Locate the line that says “UW students, staff, retirees, faculty and alumni” and click on the plus (+) sign on the left end of that line.  That will open up all of the activities.
5. Scroll down to you whatever activity that you prefer.  Click on the check box on the right end of the line.  You can select more than one shift and/or activity if you like.
6. Once you have selected your activity, you need to scroll all the way to the bottom and click on the plus (+) sign next to Volunteer Training and Orientations.   All activities require the selection of a training and orientation location so scroll down and select a preferred training location.  If you can’t make a session on the list, there is an option to say that “None of these options work”.  In this case, a webinar link will be sent to you.
7. Click on “Next” on the right side of the screen
8. Fill in your name, email and create a password and fill in the rest of the information.
9. Go to the next screen and hit Confirm on the bottom of the screen.

You are done!  Special Olympics USA Games will send you an email to confirm.
