This training will define and differentiate characteristics of intimacy avoidant behaviors and how they may present in a therapeutic setting as well as discuss the role of family of origin, trauma, culture, and socio-economic status in the development of intimacy avoidant behaviors.

Many current evidence-based treatments rely heavily on the practice of acceptance. Yet, this is an extraordinarily challenging practice for everyone, practitioners and clients alike. In this workshop, through a mixture of interactive lecture and experiential practices, you will grapple and engage with defining acceptance. Woven throughout the workshop will be interventions that promote acceptance and letting go that you can immediately incorporate into clinical practice.
