Spring 2021 Graduate School Public Lecture Series

Spring is here and new lectures are popping up like flowers! Sign up for a UW Public Lectures livestream today.

DR. BEVERLY GUY-SHEFTALL | April 5 • 6:30 p.m. PST • Livestream
Join us as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of UW’s Gender, Women and Sexuality Studies with a livestream featuring Dr. Beverly Guy-Sheftall. In her talk, she will reflect on reforms around systemic racism catalyzed by the Black Lives Matter movement, a queer Black feminist project, especially in light of how Black feminist work has shaped U.S. social justice movements, often without acknowledgement.

COEXISTING WITH COVID-19: THE END? | May 6 • 6:30 p.m. PST • Livestream
As the 20-21 academic year comes to a close, we ask our experts: Is this pandemic over? Could this possibly be our very last COVID-19 livestream? Join our moderator, Hanson Hosein as he closes out (hopefully) our Coexisting with COVID-19 series with Dr. Ali Mokdad of the UW’s Institute of Health Metrics. You won’t want to miss it!
