BIPOC Affinity Group Meeting (RSVP Required)- 11/11

We wanted to share some updates with folks who may be interested in joining our BIPOC Affinity Group at the School of Social Work.

The BIPOC Affinity Group at the SSW is an informal group hoping to build connections with students, staff, and faculty at the School of Social Work!  This affinity group holds space for folks who self-identify as BIPOC, including Black, Indigenous, People of Color, Brown, Asian & Pacific Islander, Mixed & Multiracial folks.  At our first meeting we discussed some goals/intentions for our space and wanted to share this as a work in progress:

  • Offer mutual support
  • Build community and create space to connect around hobbies/interests
  • Carve out space to center the BIPOC student experience
  • Provide resources and self-development opportunities for members

Please complete our Fall survey and RSVP for our upcoming zoom gathering on Thursday, November 11th from 5-6PM.

We also encourage our BIPOC community members to join our email listserv to stay in touch!  After Fall quarter we will use this as the main form of communication about events/opportunities.
