Essay Review Volunteer Opportunity

WSOS is looking for volunteers to help us select the next group of Opportunity Scholars! Volunteers are asked to share 1-3 hours of time to read and score short answer responses from Scholarship applicants. There will be a training and guide provided and the commitment is entirely virtual. Access the registration form on our website and see additional details below.

What can I expect as a volunteer?

• Generally, volunteers can expect to spend an estimated 1-3 hours reviewing essays or short answers assigned to them.
• At the start of the essay review period, you’ll receive a separate email with training materials and a rubric to guide you through the essay review process. All volunteers are required to review the rubric and training materials prior to beginning their reviews.

Essay review timeline:

• CTS Review:
• Registration deadline: February 2, 2022
• Review essays between February 11-20, 2022
• BaS Review:
• Registration deadline: February 23, 2022
• Review essays between March 7-16, 2022
