UWCHR 2023 Funding Opportunities – Various Deadlines

The UW Center for Human Rights has funding for undergraduate and graduate students across all three UW campuses, with applications opening up February 13-March 18. We’re excited that this year we were able to increase our funding amounts!

Just wanted to put this on your radar and if you feel relevant to any Social Work students, please help us share this opportunity with students who might be interested in applying. And if in the future there’s a better person to send updates like this to, please let me know!

We have three main funds students can apply to..

1) The Osheroff and Clark Fund provides financial resources for..

  • Undergraduate and graduate students
  • Priority to projects focusing on promoting social change through direct action
  • Approximately $4,300 available to distribute

2) The Mack and Mayerfeld Fund provides financial resources for

  • Graduate students
  • Priority to study and/or research about human rights
  • Approximately $10,000 available to distribute

3) The Dr. Lisa Sable Brown Fund provides financial resources for

  • Graduate students
  • Priority given to research that identifies acts of oppression of an individual’s human rights and advocates abolishing such practices that may be viewed as a form of slavery
  • Approximately $10,000 available to distribute

You can find more info on our website here, including registration for upcoming info sessions about the funding.
