MSW students, you are invited to a colloquium and candidate visit for Kamryn S. Morris, MS, PhD in their candidacy for appointment as an Assistant Professor (tenure track). This is a wonderful opportunity to obtain exposure to contemporary research surrounding the social welfare discipline, and to connect with other academics.

Kamryn S. Morris is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of Social Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley. She earned her Ph.D. from Arizona State University as a NIDA T32 Predoctoral Fellow in prevention, dissemination, and implementation science. Dr. Morris serves as a researcher on the statewide evaluation team of CalHOPE Student Support, which seeks to build statewide infrastructure to promote thriving among California’s learners, teachers, and leaders. Her interdisciplinary program of research seeks to promote thriving among Black youth through interrogating racism and supporting school belonging. Using qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods, she learns from and amplifies the voices of educators and Black youth to examine social and contextual factors that promote and/or prohibit school belonging and wellbeing. Her practice-relevant scholarship has been published in outlets including Adversity & Resilience and Youth & Society.
