Seeking Leadership Roles with the University District Street Medicine (due 2/17)

MSW students seeking service learning & leadership experience, consider this opportunity with the University District Street Medicine. Commence forwarded message:

University District Street Medicine (UDSM) is a student-run, interprofessional volunteer organization dedicated to improving health equity among those in Seattle’s University District. We currently have 5 regularly scheduled outreach sites, serving different areas within the U-District community by providing individuals with basic medical services through street outreaches and clinic-based care. We are recruiting for multiple leadership position openings in UDSM starting in March! Applications are due Feb 17th.

We are currently recruiting for:

  • Dental Student Co-Lead 
  • St. Vincent Outreach Manager 
  • One Health manager 
  • Scribe trainer/coordinator – Undergraduate student only 
  • Data manager 
  • Street outreach manager 
  • Secretary – Grad or Undergrad 

General Qualifications include: 

  • Current graduate/professional student at University of Washington in one of the following schools
    • Medicine
    • MEDEX/PA
    • Rehab Medicine
    • Social Work
    • Nursing (ABSN, BSN, and DNP are eligible
    • Pharmacy
    • Dentistry
    • Law
    • Public Health
  • Able to commit to 1 year of service 
  • Have personal transportation to and from outreach site  
  • Able to commit to a monthly virtual leadership meeting 
  • Have availability during outreach that does not conflict with class/work. Please ensure at least 1 hour availability before and after shift for set-up and clean up. Outreach locations and hours are available in the role descriptions document.  
  • Outreach manager: Able to coordinate with co-manager (if applicable) to divide shifts. Plan to commit to at least 1 shift per month. 
  • Be reliable in interpersonal communication, both in person and via email/text

Prior experience with UDSM is great but not required!

There are a few trainings to complete prior to volunteering and then you’ll be ready to volunteer with any of our sites: Street Outreaches, the Mobile Health Van, Elizabeth Gregory Home, Tent City 3, or OneHealth.
