The World is Worth Saving: AIDS, Austerity, and Activism

Featuring 2019 Stephen Stewart Gloyd Lecturer, Stephen Lewis, co-founder and co-director of AIDS-Free World, an international advocacy organization that exposes injustice, abuse, and inequality—the social ills that underpin and continue to sustain HIV. He was the former UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa (2001-06), Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF (1995-99), and Canada’s Ambassador to the United Nations (1984-88).
