RESEARCH ASSISTANT POSITION

Position Title: Program Evaluation of the Adolescent Package of HIV Services in Kenya Research Assistant (50% FTE)

Hours/Week: 20

Duration: The original start date was January 5, 2015 but will now start as soon as possible, no later than January 26.  Funds are available through spring quarter 2015.  There is a possibility of extending to additional quarters pending availability of funding and RA excellence in performance of duties.

Job description:

We are seeking a full-time (20hours/week) evaluation coordinator to support the Program Evaluation of the Adolescent Package of HIV Services in Kenya. The project, in partnership with the Kenya Ministry of Health (MOH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Kenya Research Program (KRP) and the International Training & Education Center for Health (I-TECH) aims to roll out and evaluate the impact of a new national package of adolescent HIV services on disclosure of HIV status to infected adolescents.

The research assistant will be based in Seattle and part of a larger study team. Duties will include:  scheduling regular collaborator progress-update meetings; maintenance and assistance with development of study materials and documents; maintenance of appropriate human subjects approvals; annual reporting to CDC and other partners; data management and analyses; and assisting in manuscript preparation. [S]he will also support and coordinate with Kenya-based teams to facilitate field activities such as training of health providers at different stages of program roll-out.

Funds are available starting mid-January through Spring quarter.  There is a possibility of extending to additional quarters pending availability of funding and RA excellence in performance of duties.
Required Qualifications:

Detail oriented with strong interpersonal, writing, and analytic skills

Strong data management and data analysis skills

Previous international experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Study management experience preferred.

Eligibility and Application: Eligible students must be matriculated graduate-level students at the University of Washington (undergraduates, recent graduates, and medical residents are not eligible).
