Program Assistant Posting –2015 Summer Internship

WestSide Baby, in partnership with our community, provides essential items to local children in need by collecting and distributing diapers, clothing, and equipment.  We do this through partnerships with more than 100 social service agencies and 450 service providers within those Agencies.  Agency professionals order items from us and distribute them to the families they serve, free of charge.

WestSide Baby is seeking a responsible and motivated individual to join our team as a Program Assistant Intern for the summer.  This person will work primarily with the Program Manager and Site Coordinator to support our daily operations with a focus on facilitating our distribution through social service agencies.  This position offers excellent skill building opportunities in communications, customer service, and program implementation in a dynamic and fast paced non-profit environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Process all filled orders in preparation for distribution
• Directly interact with Provider Partners to facilitate their weekly pick-ups
• Support group volunteer events, including planning and setting up projects
• Support intake and donation processing efforts
• Support summer community events
• Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must be a self-starter that desires to work in a fast paced and energetic environment.
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills, allowing for excellent communication with staff and Community Partners
• Computer savvy a must. Proficient in Word, Excel and data entry.
• Great attitude is required!

Hours:

Position runs for 8-10 weeks from Mid June to September.  Flexible start and end date are possible.  Minimum of twenty (20) hours a week and two additional Saturday shifts (9:30am-1:30pm) each month.  Additional hours or flexible schedule around event weekend may be requested.

Sample Schedule:

• Monday : 9:00-1:00
• Tuesday : 8:30-2:30pm (required)
• Wednesday: 9:00-1:00
• Thursday : 11-5:00 (required)
• Friday : off
• Saturday: 9:30-1:30 (2 per month)

Compensation:

This is an unpaid internship.  Can be used for school credit if needed by applicant’s program.
