My name is Leah Karlsen and I am a medical student at University of Washington School of Medicine. I am writing to you today on behalf of our Primary Care Leadership Collaborative in partnership with Federal Way High School’s AVID program. We are looking for providers (and providers in training!) such as ARNP, PA, RN, MA, MSW, RD, etc to join us for our upcoming event, Primary Care in Action.
This 3.5 hour event from 8:30am to 12pm on Wednesday, December 5th will provide FWHS students, who will be the first members of their families to attend college and/or are from under-represented backgrounds in universities, with a chance to engage in hands-on, vignette-based programming where they can “step into the role” of different professions found in a primary care clinic. We need dedicated volunteers, like yourself, in order to make this event possible.
During the event each provider’s role would be to facilitate a station on tasks pertinent to your profession in clinic. We would greatly appreciate your participation in making this an incredible learning opportunity for the students.
