A Distributed Network for Intensive Longitudinal Monitoring in Metastatic Triple-Neg Breast Cancer

January 26, 2016 in Publications, Breast

UW Medicine's Center for Cancer Innovation (CCI), founded by C. Anthony (Tony) Blau, M.D., published an article in the Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network in January 2016 using research biospecimens prospectively procured by NWBioSpecimen. This report describes a patient with triple-negative breast cancer metastatic to bone and participation in the Intensive Trial of OMics in Cancer (ITOMIC).  Their findings include difficulties with current clinical trials and their hypotheses for the patient's markedly elevated circulating tumor cells (CTCs).
