NWBioSpecimen’s IT workflow presented at the 2015 ISBER Annual Meeting
May 05, 2015 in Events
Anthony Rizzardi, Scientific Coordinator for NWBioSpecimen, presented a poster at the 2015 ISBER Annual Meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. The presentation described our approach to integrating and deploying a commercial biospecimen management software system (Labmatrix, BioFortis, Columbia, MD) with an Anatomic Pathology Laboratory Information System and an existing custom informatics system previously described at the ISBER 2014 Annual Meeting (http://goo.gl/InbGWh). NWBioSpecimen developed workflows in Labmatrix for retrospective and prospective biospecimen collection which allows for barcoding and tracking of specimens, derivatization, and visit and specimen level annotation data. Dynamic reporting of these workflows and annotation data allows for robust metricizing of our processes.
