Hope is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Anthropology, where she focuses on sociocultural anthropology, visual ethnography, and urban studies on the Pacific Rim. She holds a BA in Urban Studies and Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences from the University of Washington Tacoma and an MA in Chinese Studies from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. At the University of Washington, she has taught and tutored an array of anthropology coursework and spent the 2018-2019 academic year running the Anthropology Writing and Research Center. She is passionate about interdisciplinary dialogue and cross-disciplinary collaboration. In her spare time, Hope enjoys doing film photography, seeing art, and riding the local ferries.
