Upon the invitation of the University of Nairobi, Kenyatta National Hospital, and AIC Kijabe Hospital in Kenya and the University of Washington/Seattle Children’s in Seattle, U.S.A. have implemented the first fellowship program in Pediatric Emergency and Critical Care for limited-resource settings for the benefit of providers from sub-Saharan Africa. The program provides pediatricians from sub-Saharan Africa with advanced clinical skills and knowledge, implementation science and leadership strategies to improve care of critically ill and injured children in their region.
The PECC-Kenya leadership team includes representatives from Seattle Children’s, the University of Nairobi, AIC Kijabe and Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital in Nairobi.
