Abstract: The initial focus of the collaborative effort will be to assemble, organize, and summarize available information on the Methow River watershed, with particular attention to production of salmonids in lower tributary watersheds. The first year’s effort will be to develop a sampling plan to collect specific data and to test specific hypotheses. The sampling plan will be targeted for implementation in 2004, which will likely continue for 3-5 years. The proposal will define sampling efforts to specifically address the effectiveness of fish passage improvements being planned by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation on several tributaries of the lower Methow watershed.
