Abstract: The objective of the project is to increase public and FWS awareness, literacy and actions to
address the effects of climate change to fish, wildlife, plants and ecosystems; and to support and participate in the Department of the Interior’s Youth Initiative by assisting and mentoring a graduate assistant. This agreement provides PSU a sponsorship and mentorship of a graduate student and assistance from FWS in the student’s thesis and providing real-world experience in applying course work to the work environment. The agreement provides assistance to FWS for its coordination and communication efforts on the effects of climate change on fish, wildlife, plants and ecosystems. Specifically, the student will assist FWS with the development of climate change websites, assist with Regional Climate Board projects, and vulnerability assessments and adaptation planning projects. The student may be expected to travel for various meetings and conferences, but travel costs will be reimbursed through separate travel reimbursement funding
and travel authorizations.
