Nitrogen Fixation and Mineral Weathering in Forests of the Oregon Coast Range
Project ID: G19AC00396

Abstract: The goal of this project is to evaluate how N-fixation by red alder influences mineral weathering rates in soil. Progress on this work will be separated into two concurrent phases, with final integration once each phase is complete. The individual study objectives are:
1) Develop landscape estimates of N-fixation by red alder in the Pacific Northwest.
2) Evaluate how excess fixed N stimulates mineral weathering.
