Abstract: The Kiana Family Networks Project will document and analyze the interplay between subsistence activities and social networks in the Inupiaq community of Kiana, Alaska. This project, to be conducted by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game Division of Subsistence and the Kiana IRA Council, will administer a questionnaire about subsistence harvests and exchange networks to each household in the community. ADFG will conduct subsistence harvest surveys, prepare data for analysis, conduct preliminary analysis, and collaborate with NPS staff to prepare a technical report. A more extensive comparative analysis of social networks will also be completed.
