Abstract: The purpose of this project is to research methods to preserve historic exterior redwood at Scotty’s Castle in Death Valley National Park. This includes completing assessment of redwood conditions, literature review, completing laboratory testing, and installing field test samples. Contingent upon funding received, it is anticipated that in FY 08 this program will continue under a modification to finalize field trials and establish and initiate treatment or repair protocols.
