Abstract: The National Park Service (NPS) North Coast & Cascades Research Learning Network (NCCRLN) will collaborate with experts in science writing and environmental journalism from Western Washington University (WWU) to populate a newly-created web site. The NCCRLN’s purpose is to encourage research in eight Pacific Northwest national parks and to disseminate the results of that research. The new web site will be a gateway for information on research in these parks. The first group of web site topics will be based on the NPS Inventory & Monitoring program, and additional topics will be provided by each network park. This project has multiple public benefits. In collaborating with WWU, there will be substantial educational opportunities for many students. The finished products will serve to educate NPS and the public on research conducted in the North Coast and Cascades Network parks and will be readily available to them via the NCCRLN web site.
