Abstract: The Nez Perce National Historical Park (NEPE) Curatorial section and the Bowers Laboratory of Anthropology will work together to assess the materials and physical condition of about 1,100 archeological artifacts from the collection of the Big Hole National Battlefield, a unit of NEPE and site of a tragic attack by the U.S. Army on a Nez Perce camp, August 9-10, 1877. This Task Agreement defines a specific affiliation between the NPS and the UI to apply conservation treatment to archeological artifacts to insure their long-term stability and preservation.
