Abstract: This project will create a publicly accessible website for the Flora of the Pacific Northwest, 2nd edition (Flora 2nd edition, hereafter) that will include the most current taxonomy and range of plant species in Washington and northern Oregon. This project assists the BLM in meeting Secretarial Order 3347 (Conservation Stewardship & Outdoor Recreation) by providing the most current species information to help maintain biodiversity, track rare species, and control invasive plant species and noxious weeds. This project also assists the BLM in meeting Secretarial Order 3369 (Promoting Open Science) by encouraging participation from citizen scientists and ensuring that the BLM and the public has the most accurate information available.
