Abstract: Statement of Purpose:
1) Research the effects of contaminants on vegetation in the area.
2) Continue monitoring vegetation and heavy metal distribution along the Cape Krusenstern National Monument section of DMTS.
3) Improve analysis techniques and develop methods to document change.
4) Educate the public on the environmental effects of the Delong Mountains Transportation System (DMTS) road and of sulfate-metal mining access roads in general.
