Abstract:

Objectives Building off of an approved dissertation project focused on the longevity of combined fuel treatments (thinning, mastication, prescribed burning, and grazing), this proposal will: 1) determine if the effects of fuel treatments differ in regard to plant available N and post-fire vegetation recovery; and 2) will assess nutritional quality of three prolific western U.S. deciduous shrub species to evaluate the effectiveness of browsing goats as a fire management tool across seasons.
