Abstract: Oregon State University and the National Park Service will collaborate on a project of mutual assistance, the public purpose of which is to support landscape dynamics monitoring in the North Coast and Cascade Network parks. Oregon State University proposes to use a recently developed remote sensing tool, called LandTrendr, to create new versions of existing results which will have improved change labels and a more flexible minimum mapping unit. Oregon State University and the National Park Service will then collaboratively assess the feasibility of attributing these improved change label maps with agents of landscape disturbance. Products include labeled maps of landscape change created using the LandTrendr algorithm, and a report describing the efficacy of the labeling exercise in the context of the North Coast and Cascade Network landscape dynamics monitoring goals.
