Abstract: Project identifies and locates traditional and historic areas of importance in the Chitina and Noatak river corridors, and to make recommendations for management regarding long term preservation and protection efforts. While the objective of this project is to identify and protect important resources, the parks recognize that providing an understanding of the type of resources present in the parks and the significance of those resources to the local and Native peoples of the areas will help ensure their preservation. Consequently portions of the information obtained will be made available to the public in a final report. The parks will work with communities and tribal councils to ensure that sensitive information is not released to the public.
