Abstract: The project provides an assessment of climate change vulnerability for the natural, cultural, and paleontological resources of Badlands National Park. The project will define the geographic and topical scope of key resource indicators, their projected change trajectory, and the potential impacts to resource management. An interdisciplinary team of specialists from National Park Service and St. Mary’s University of Minnesota will compile and synthesize existing scientific information from multiple sources, combined with downscaled climate change regional projections, to characterize park biological and physical resources vulnerability in terms of resource resilience and resistance to projected climate changes.
