Abstract: The purpose of this project is to coalesce archaeological information regarding Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve into a document that can be used by park managers and researchers to appropriately manage and interpret the resources. The information that will be researched and outlined in the final document will include descriptions of archaeological resources that have been recorded within the Preserve, the association of these sites with others in the region, environmental background, associated culture groups, archaeological history, and research themes. The identification of archaeologically sensitive areas, data gaps and a summary of the collections will be addressed in the final document. Records research and ground-truthing will be the primary methods of data gathering.
