Abstract: Conducted between 1984 and 2003, the West Twin Small Watersheds project has produced an extremely important baseline data record, describing ecosystem processes and interactions in a small headwater stream of the Hoh rainforest. While this project may not be continued as part of the NPS Vital Signs Monitoring Program, the North Coast and Cascades Network (NCCN), considers the dataset to be very important to future research and studies. The goal of Olympic National Park (ONP) and the NCCN is to actively pursue funds to continue this project in the near future.
Annual reports, multiple publications and a published monograph (summarizing much of this projects findings between 1984 and 1994) already exist and provide an important resource for future research. The goal of this agreement is to supplement existing information with a summary of the most current findings, and transfer all datasets and collections from the UW to ONP archives. This will ensure that a product exists which is readily available to future researchers or ONP managers.
