Abstract: Seattle University College of Science and Engineering (SU) and USDA Forest Service will work together to help students design a senior class project on green infrastructure in the Pacific Northwest. The mutual benefits of this agreement will highlight efforts by SU students and the USDA Forest Service to communicate research and to provide new information to the public on the potential of green infrastructure to improve aquatic and riparian habitat. SU students will provide a literature review, assess current projects in the Pacific Northwest and design their own green infrastructure project in a watershed that needs restoration. The USDA Forest Service will be primarily responsible for mentoring students and will review the final class project to make sure it meets the needs of the PNW Station research program.
