Abstract: North Cascades National Park (NOCA) includes four sites that may be suitable for outdoor classrooms or demonstration sites to illustrate restoration methods used in low-elevation forest, riparian forests. NOCA is interested in using these four sites as research sites and linking the research with on-going education programs hosted by the park or the North Cascades Institute. The objective of this project is to develop a detailed PhD level research proposal that will focus on two to four restoration alternatives for lower elevation forests.
