Abstract: This cooperative agreement vill provide support for the project titled: ‘”Glacier Change in the Rocky Mountain West”. The overall goal is to of this project is to assess area changes of glaciers in the American West over the past century using historic maps, aerial and•ground-based photographs, and geologic vidence of glacier extent. By quantifying the changes in extent of numerous glaciers, we gain a statistically robust estimate of the change in glacier cover for the entire region. In addition we propose to acquire new aerial photographs, weather permitting, to obtain the current extent of glaciers against which previous changes can be compared.
