Abstract: Winter storm surges in Puget Sound have contributed to erosion of a portion of the archaeological site (45SJ280) along the beach at Watmough Bay on Lopez Island. Stabilization measures identified by BLM engineers are proposed to control erosion at the site. Before stabilization measures are implemented, archaeological data recovery would be conducted in the stabilization zone. In conjunction, public education would be provided to students participating in the project and to the local communities. (In 2008 BLM changed this agreement number to L05AC14461, and in 2010, changed it again to L10AC16265.
