Abstract: Four components will provide information on visitor use of mountain lakes. First, information about people who visit four mountain lakes areas will be gathered including number of day and overnight users and percentage of each who fish. Second, qualitative information will be gathered about two organizations whose primary focus is on mountain lake fishing in North Cascades. Third, the data collected by these two organizations will be obtained and its usefulness for park management assessed. Fourth, protocols for collecting information on how people disperse around lakeshores will be developed.
